About MVSNL
This is a low commitment show.
You will need to come to auditions after school on Thursday, and some will be asked to come to callbacks the next day.
Rehearsals will be once a week, during lunch, for however long your director chooses. If you need to miss a day, directors can be flexible, as long as you communicate with your director and stage manager.
You will also be needed for our tech week (dates and times below). If you can't make one of the first two tech days, we can work around it, but all the other days are very mandatory.
There is no experience needed to participate; we invite everyone and anyone to audition!
On audition day, we will all meet in the auditorium and give you all the information you will need. Then you will form groups and get name tags. We will have our directors stationed in three different rooms, you will go to each room and read part of a script for each director. Once you've seen each director, you can check in with a stage manager to be dismissed.
All the directors will meet with the production team afterwards to figure out who needs to be called back. We will send an email out shortly after our discussion to notify to anyone who needs to be called back. If you do not get a callback, this does not mean that you won't be cast. Everyone will receive a role.
The following day we hold callbacks. Here, directors will ask you to perform certain parts of the script. Check in with the stage managers each time to see if you are needed by another director, or are dismissed.
Once callbacks are over, the directors and production team will meet again to cast the show! We will send out the email with the cast list as soon as we can. Your director will then reach out to you to discuss your rehearsals.
Everyone will be cast in the show. However, if you are unable to attend the mandatory tech rehearsals that are on the Calendar and the Google form and have not discussed it with the producers before signing up, then we may have to cut you from the show.
If conflicts arise with your schedule and your director's rehearsals, you must notify your director AND stage manager within 24 hours of the conflict or as soon as possible in emergency cases via email and/or text. Failure to do so on one occasion will result in a warning, and a second occasion will result in being cut from the show.
While this is a low-commitment show, we expect dedication to making the performance great from all actors and members of the production team. Please keep this in mind when you sign up to audition.
